The history of Galle is its iconic fact that runs back to the 16th century when it was the main port of Sri Lanka before the arrival of the Portuguese.
Galle is the best example of a fortified city built by the Dutch and Portuguese reflecting their architectural mastery through buildings which are now a beautiful collection with a rocky coastline that attracts travelers. Stop At : Sea Turtle Hatchery

• Within the sanctuary of the project, collected and rescued eggs can hatch safely away from predators before being released into the sea at night time.

• Visit Green turtle, Olive ridley turtle, Leatherback turtle, Hawksbill turtle, Loggerhead turtle, and baby turtles.

• Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At : Madu River Boat Safari

• Beautiful Madu River, a wetland estuary covered with water and inhabited by 64 islands.
• The boat ride is a wonderful way to take a closer look at this complex wetland ecosystem; a world heritage site protected by the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands being one of the last wetlands in Sri Lanka to contain a pristine mangrove forest.

Stop At : Galle Dutch Fort

• Take an exciting walk through Galle Dutch Fort which boasts of colorful history.

• This was originally built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and later developed in the 17th century, during the Dutch Colonial period.

• The Dutch Fort is now a UNESCO World Heritage site in Sri Lanka and is the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers.

• Duration: 2 hour

Stop At : Stilt Fishermen

• Stilt fishing is a traditional fishing technique in Sri Lanka is famous that the wooden poles are erected generally 2 meters above the sea bed and the fishermen sit or stand on a wooden crossbar.

• Stilt fishing will make beautiful scenery to be captured in a picture.

• Duration: 15 minutes
